Drop
Ines Sanchez Calatrava

As water is becoming scarcer, there is a need to create awareness. In an attempt to do so, the design plays with analogies based in water and London On Tap as a brand. It abstractly renders the concept of a drop that continuously falls into a pool of water at its base which, could be understood as water wastage. It is only when we realise that what is falling inside the carafe is tap water, you understand that you are doing something good for the environment.
Spanish-born designer Ines Sanchez Calatrava has lived and worked in London for the last 8 years. Since graduating from Ravensbourne College of Design and Communication in 2007, Ines has been involved in a variety of freelance projects including branding and designing household products.
Ines was awarded the Ideal Standards Designers Award through the Royal Society of the Arts competition of 2006/2007 for her response to the brief titled ‘Water Water’. Later in 2007, Ines was awarded the New Designers Audi Foundation Designers Award for a portfolio of work that dealt with sustainable and inclusive design issues.
